Pregnancy Yoga Classes in Oxford with Bella Rossi, Birthlight ™ Perinatal Yoga Teacher

Pregnancy Yoga

Pregnancy Yoga classes provide a friendly environment for you to adapt to the changes in your body, mind and emotions during pregnancy. Yoga can be stabilising and grounding, helping you stay fit and healthy as well as tap inner strength and confidence in your ability to give birth. Gentle yoga postures, movements and breathing can provide more space for your baby and can help alleviate any pregnancy discomforts. Time is also given to discovering different labour positions and practices which may be useful during birth. Classes end with deep relaxation where the body can release tensions and the mind can become quiet – energy is renewed and mother and baby are nourished and at peace.

Whether you’re a first-time mother-to-be or if it’s your second, third or more pregnancy, you can join these classes from 16+ weeks of pregnancy. Before this time rest, relaxation and gentle breathing are recommended to stabilise any hormonal fluctuations, changes in mood, nausea and tiredness that can be associated with early pregnancy. The yoga practices are all very gentle and are suitable for complete beginners as well as those with years of yoga practice. All the exercises in these yoga classes have been specifically chosen to enhance the well-being of you and your baby.

Postnatal Yoga

These gentle enjoyable yoga classes help you to bond with your baby and vice versa, and meet other mums and babies in a peaceful and friendly environment.

Postnatal Yoga supports and enhances the natural process of postnatal recuperation during the first year after childbirth. Postnatal Yoga promotes optimum health and well-being using postures, movement, balance and relaxation linked with breath awareness. Regular practice of postnatal yoga can help you heal and repair. It can help you care for your baby with greater ease, through better posture and alignment, reduced pain, and through more effective ways of relaxing and relating that contribute to baby calming.
