Emanuele (Manu) Rossi is an Ashtanga Yoga Teacher authorised by the Sri K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute, Mysore, India.

Began practicing Ashtanga yoga in 1997 in Italy with Francesco Sangalli. In 1998, he started to practice with Lino Miele and continued constant daily practice under his guidance for 8 years, discovering step by step the benefits and transformative power of Ashtanga Yoga. He began teaching Ashtanga Yoga in Tuscany in 2001.

The teachings of Lino Miele inspired a dedication to Ashtanga Yoga, which led Manu to India in 2004 and meeting his guru, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in 2005 when studying at the K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI) in Mysore, India. He studied at KPJAYI for extended periods every year since then. Other influences have been David Swenson, Nancy Gilgoff and Gaby Pascoli, who have led him to a deeper consciousness and awareness of the practice and life.

In 2006 Manu moved to London to continue his studying with Hamish Hendry at Astanga Yoga London, who daily inspires him as a model of dedication and faith. In London Manu has taught morning Mysore Style Ashtanga Yoga at The Life Centre and The Fulham Yoga Shala as well as teaching individuals and other classes across the city.

In January 2009 Manu and his wife Bella moved to Oxford where they teach daily Mysore Style Ashtanga Yoga as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and R. Sharath Jois at the K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute.

“Bless my family for their eternal support and unconditional love, thanks to my wife Bella for her love and constant presence, thanks to all the teachers who share with me their knowledge and joy for the practice, thanks to Sri K. Pattabhi Jois for dedicating his life to keep in life this precious practice for humanity, thanks to R. Sharath Jois to keep alive the memory and tradition of Guruji Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and to carry on his lineage and thanks to God for every breath I take.”

Bella Rossi is an Ashtanga Yoga Teacher authorised by the Sri K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute, Mysore, India.

Bella began exploring yoga in the ashrams of India in 1997 and has not stopped practicing yoga ever since. After her experience in India she moved to Laos, South-East Asia to work in education and environmental conservation and fully immersed herself in Buddhist and traditional culture for the next four years. The gentle society, compassionate people and natural way of living fundamentally changed her outlook on life. In 1999, Bella began teaching yoga classes in Vientiane, Laos, thanks to the encouragement of her teacher there, Sally Sizemore.

In 2000, Bella qualified as a Yoga Teacher at the Sivananda Yoga Ashram in Val Morin, Canada after completing a month-long ashram-based teacher training and 3 months of karma yoga (selfless service) within the ashram. Later that year, Bella moved to London to begin teaching full-time yoga classes for 9 years. From 2001-2008 she apprenticed in the traditional Mysore Style Ashtanga Yoga method under the inspirational guidance of Hamish Hendry, Roberta Giannotti and Denise Christian, developing her own daily self-practice and assisting and teaching classes at Astanga Yoga London.

Bella first met Guru Sri K.Pattabhi Jois and family – Saraswati and Sharath, in London in 2002. Inspired by the discipline, presence and humour of this great yogi and his family, she practiced in their yearly London workshops from 2002-2006 and then has been travelling to Mysore, India, almost yearly since to study at The Sri K.P. Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI). Bella has been authorised to teach Ashtanga Yoga by R.Sharath Jois and she is committed to return to Mysore to train with Sharath as often as possible.

Since 2009, Bella has been teaching Ashtanga Yoga with Emanuele in Oxford, UK. She continues to develop her daily self-practice and has begun practicing the Advanced Series of Ashtanga Yoga under the guidance of Hamish Hendry, at Astanga Yoga London.

Bella also teaches Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga, being a qualified Birthlight™ Perinatal Yoga Instructor, at Eau De Vie natural therapy centre and Barefoot Books Studio in Oxford. She is also a Thai Massage Therapist, bringing elements of this balancing bodywork into all her yoga classes.
